There's really nothing to making one of them. Just gather your materials and stick them together! Here's a list of the "stuff" that I ended up using:
- Small poster frame (mine was 12x18) preferably made of plastic instead of glass.
- A grand staff (I printed this one from Susan Paradis' Teacher Resources)
- A paper keyboard (I have a pad of them that I purchased from Jeffers Handbell Supply, but you can print them here for free if you don't want to buy them!)
- A large sheet of scrapbook paper to use as a background
It only ended up costing me $4, and I'm so pleased with the way it ended up - especially since I will be able to make several of them for the cost of just one of the store-bought boards mentioned above.

This is such a great idea! I've been meaning to buy a staff/piano whiteboard, but making it myself will save a lot of money.
I was wondering, though, where did you find the poster frame?
Julia, I bought my poster frame at Wal-Mart, but I've also seen them relatively inexpensively at Michael's, JoAnn's and other craft stores. :o)
